 1881 - 1973. Artist. Joined the academy at Barcelona aged only 14, he pained Barefoot Girl in 1895, he went on for advanced training in Madrid, He won a gold medal in 1898 for Customs of Aragon. He set up a studio in 13 Rue de Ravignon in 1901 (now called Place Emile-Goufeau), in Monmatre. Other works include: Gypsy Girl on the Beach 1898, Longchamp 1901, The Blue Room 1901, La Coiffure 1905-6, a portrait of Gertrude Stein 1906, Two Nudes 1906, Les Demoiselles d'Avignon 1906-7, Three Dancers1925, Guernica 1937, a portrait of Stalin 1953. He became associated with Diaghilev's Russian Ballet, designing sets and costumes for them, Parade 1917, Le Tricorne 1919, Pulcinella 1920, Le Train bleu 1924. He married Olga Khokhlova ( Olga Picasso) a dancer of Diaghliev's
